Nutrition for Seniors

Nutritional recommendations for seniors are the same for younger adults: eat a varied and balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables, and daily dinners, in addition to drinking plenty of fluids. When one gets older, his or her appetite can decrease since taste and smell senses become slightly reduced. It is therefore wise to eat foods with lots of flavor and spice up meals a little extra. Likewise, it is recommended to have many small meals spread over the day, such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner with some snacks between. As a senior, daily nutritional requirements are at least 6 servings of wholegrain breads and cereals, 2 glasses of fortified plant milk, 2 fruit and 1 serving dinner, in addition to vitamin D and omega-3 supplements.

Make sure to make food delicious and a joyous experience to create :-)
